Thankful Trips From Target

Greetings, G.O. readers!

Hope you guys have enjoyed your weekend.  I can’t complain.  I’ve been gradually getting my house and kitchen together for the holidays.  I finally got my dining room table delivered (after nearly two years of living in my house); so now I’m in pursuit of a nice centerpiece.  This morning I started thinking about what all I will need to get my Thanksgiving cooking done this year.

I’ve had my current cookware set for 11 years now, so it has received its share of wear and tear; because of that, I’d been considering for a while now, which brand I would like to get to replace it.  At one time I thought it would be Paula Dean’s, but then I switched over to team Rachel Ray.  It became my mission to find some of her cookware for a good price.  So you can imagine how delighted I was to find out she was on QVC today!  She did have a great deal with ‘easy pay’ option, (where you can break the payments down into 2-6 payments), but before I could decide if I was going to purchase it or not, my hubby said it was time for our weekly Target trip.  I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned it before, but Target is one of my favorite stores in the universe!  I’m not sure why, but I just love the Target shopping experience.  Yeah, I’m simple.  But you like what you like.  Ok, back to the point of this entry………

After getting some needed household items, I ran across a Rachel Ray cookware set that had been reduced to a great price that I could just pay for outright!  It was in red (which matches my Kitchen Aid mixer–though I love her orange cookware too).  The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.  It was like the set was sitting there in one of my most fave stores just waiting for me to come along and put it in my basket!  So even though it was a materialistic purchase, it made me feel happy and grateful.

My whole shopping trip made me aware of how fortunate I am.  I know there are so many people out there less fortunate, and though I’m not rich by any means, I’m blessed to be able to buy the things I need (and sometimes the things I want).  So as I brought my Target bags inside, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for everything I have; and though things aren’t perfect (and never will be), I’m aware that God has brought me a long way from where I used to be.  Thank you, Lord!

The moral of the story:  Always try to look for the bright side of things and think about all you have to be thankful for–even if it’s just a simple trip to Target (and some Rachel Ray cookware).
Extra note:  Your thankful moments don’t have to be about materialistic things.  Having your health, clean drinking water, and your family to love and share your life with, are beyond awesome!  The best things are those that have no price tag.

That’s my positive rant for the night!  Peace and love, people!
