Greetings, G.O. readers!
I know it’s been awhile, (I had to get some ‘out of town’ training out of the way for my job); but now I’m back! Last night I started compiling my list for my Thanksgiving shopping trip on Saturday. My plan is to be in and out of the store as early and as quickly as possible. I have to make sure I have all my ingredients so I don’t have to make a mad dash from the house on Wednesday while I’m in the middle of cooking.
I finally have my list together for what I’ll be cooking this year. As usual, I’m letting my mom handle the meats (ham and hen). I will be making dressing, macaroni, a carrot cake, cheese cake, and (possibly a peach cobbler). My mom does dressing too, but I like to have a small batch for my own home, (plus, I like to experiment with different types of dressing recipes). I’ll try to remember to post some pics of my food after I’ve completed each dish.
As far as shopping goes, I will likely adhere to my usual routine on Thanksgiving. My hubby usually goes out early and obtains a few Thanksgiving newspapers for us, so we can see what kinds of sales will be going on. I’m usually up pretty early on Thanksgiving anyway, making the macaroni and cheese (I like it fresh, so I don’t make it the day before); it’s kind of exciting to wait on him to come back home with the sales papers as I’m cooking.
For the most part, I already know what each store is going to have anyway because I receive email alerts each from Black Friday@+GottaDeal.com. It’s just more convenient to have the sales papers in my hands without worrying with scrolling thru pages–plus, if I were going to a store in person, it helps to have the sales paper with you sometimes. But this year’s plan of attack is different. Other than my usual two stores that I hit on Thanksgiving morning, I plan to do everything else online. Whatever I can’t get online, just wasn’t meant to be anyway.
So to all my Girl October readers out there, I pose these questions:
What’s on your Thanksgiving menu?
Do you participate in Black Friday or Thanksgiving shopping? If so, will you be shopping in person or online?
What are your Thanksgiving traditions?
You can post your answers in the comments section or on the Facebook page:

Until next time–stay warm and be kind (to yourself and others).
