The Legend of Coke (The Struggle is Real)

Posted on July 22, 2015 by Girl October

Happy Wednesday, G.O. readers!

If any of you follow my other blog (Missy’s Blog), you may have read my post from last year, entitled, “The Legend of Red Bull”.  In that entry, I discussed my love for the caffeinated goodness contained in that classic blue and silver can.  You can read that one here if you want to:
http://shesatortie.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-legend-of-red-bull.html

I also talked about my plan to come off of Red Bulls for three months, which meant that I would be going from the end of July to the end of October without letting an ounce of the golden liquid pass my lips.  I started off with Cokes in that equation too, but I lasted just a month with those.  Well fast forward one year later, and I’m happy to say I succeeded with staying off the Red Bulls for those three months, (though, I did fall back into the habit really hard, off and on, once I started back drinking them).  I did quit Cokes and Red Bulls again for a few weeks during Lent this year, but didn’t succeed at going as long as the three month stint.
.
So here I am today, attempting to embark on another hiatus.  And this time, my goal is to go the rest of this year with out anymore caffeinated drinks.  Today makes three weeks since I’ve had a Red Bull, (yay, me)!  Now it’s time to cut out the Cokes.  They are my absolute favorite soda–especially when they’re ice cold.  But I really need to put them down for awhile.  I’m writing this entry so that I can be held accountable if I slip up, and also so I can celebrate and share my victory with you all if I make it to January 2016 without giving in.  So as with my old post, I will post a pic of the last Coke I’ve had and tell it goodbye for now:

Until 2016……………….

Wish me luck!!!!
Until next time, enjoy your day.
