Halloween is nearly upon us; which means if you haven’t already started looking at your favorite scary movies or composing your Halloween playlist, you only have 8 more days left to do so.
For those of you who work during the week, there’s even less time, (especially with just one more weekend left in October). So, because my nieces and I are having a “scary movie” night this upcoming weekend, I felt compelled to write this post to motivate you to initiate your own scary movie marathon.
Even though our tastes in movies may differ, here are some of my favorite Halloween/scary movies to get you in the mood for your own scare-fest.
*Ghostbusters ( part 2 is cool too)
*Fright Night (the 1985 version)
*The Monster Squad
*Salem’s Lot (the 1979 TV movie)
*Hell Raiser (I & II)
Nightmare on Elm Street (parts 3 & 4)
*Night of the Creeps
*Poltergeist (The original)
*The Frighteners
Pet Cemetery
Pumpkin Head
Slither
The Cabin in the Woods
13 Ghosts
*Aliens
The Amityville Horror (1979)
The Ring
Re-Animator
Return of the Living Dead
Creepshow (I & II)
*Beetlejuice
Friday the 13th (parts 5, 6, 7 & 9)
The Thing
*Silver Bullet
The Shining
Saw (the first one)
Weird Science
Phantoms
Phantasm
Child’s Play
Okay, I’m gonna stop there. Those are just some I could think of off the top of my head, that I’ve enjoyed over the years. Did we have any favorites in common? The one’s with an asterisk are the movies I’ll usually stop and watch anytime they come on. I like the others too–just not quite as much.
Anyhoo…
Stay tuned. In Friday’s post, I’ll give you inspiration for the ultimate Halloween playlist. With the last weekend in October on its way, why not get your scary-groovy party on?
Until then,
Bless your October Souls!
XOXO
