Technology Addiction & Burnout

Greetings, G.O. Readers!

Happy Monday, to all of you.  I hope your Monday is off to a great start, so far.

I’ll get straight to the point on this one.  Have you ever found yourself in the middle of full-blown technology addiction?  Like, do you just have to check your email every five minutes? Or have Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts you’re feeling pressure to try to keep relevant?  On top of that, are you subscribed to “everyone’s” YouTube channel or blog page?  Not to mention, you have your own blogs, and YouTube channels to manage.  Do you find yourself in a panic if you’re without your smart phone, laptop, or tablet for more than an hour?  Well, my friend, you might be in full-blown technology addiction–which can then lead to technology burnout.

This is where I find myself today; so, even though I didn’t get out all the content I wanted to for the month of July, or for my Christmas in July posts, I’m going to put all that on hold for now, and take a much needed technology hiatus for the month of July.  I already made the announcement over on my Missy Show blog, and just like I mentioned there, I’ll still periodically check my email, so if anyone needs to get in contact with me regarding this blog, or the social media pages for this blog, you can still reach me at, girloctober2014@gmail.com.  Or for those of you who know me better from my Missy Show stuff, you can hit me up at, blogtalkmissy@gmail.com.  I also may have some Facebook posts that I preschedule in the que for my Girl October Facebook group, if you want to check there for any inspirational quotes or ideas.

Just like I mentioned on the Missy Show post, I’ll pick back up with this blog and social media activities in September.  Since I’ll have a Missy Show post up and ready for September 1st, and a show scheduled for the 2nd, this blog will likely have a post ready to go by the 3rd, (I’ll still be working on material as it comes to me, so it could be the 1st, for this blog as well).  As for any Christmas in July material I didn’t get out, (such as the gift basket ideas), I’ll either do those in September, or save for December.

I know I’ve been on hiatus with this blog for over a year, (pretty much all of 2016, and the beginning of this year), but I just need to get some things in perspective; and I know I can’t do that while being addicted to YouTube and Tumblr, and playing phone games, and being caught up in, if I got any comments, or how many people went to the site today.

I do appreciate your patience and support, for those of you who do read this blog and follow me on social media.  I promise to let you guys know how this goes when I return in September.  Until then, I hope all of you have an awesome August!

Bless Your October Souls,
Girl October

This is kind of how I feel right now–zoned out in an internet haze.
