A Little Love Letter to My Future Holiday Self

Posted on July 25, 2026July 25, 2026 by admin

Ā

I want to write a love letter to my future holiday self; and I think it might be a helpful exercise for you guys, too. So, here we go….

Ā

Dear Future Holiday Self,

I hope this season feels softer for you.

Not perfect orĀ flawless.

Not like every little thing went exactly the way you imagined.

Just softer.

I hope there’s more room for your peace this year.

More room for your joy.

More room for your body to rest.

More room for your heart to actually feel the season instead of rushing through it.

Ā

I’m Thinking of You Now

I’m thinking of you before the season gets busy.

Before the calendar fills andĀ the stores get crowded.

Before the lists get longer.

Before everybody starts needing something.

I’m thinking of you now because you deserve to be cared for before the pressure begins.

You deserve little pockets of peace waiting for you.

You deserve plans that feel helpful, not heavy.

You deserve a season that includes you too.

Ā

Here’s What I Want for You

I want you to have moments where you pause and think, ā€œThis feels good.ā€

I want you to enjoy something simple without feeling like you should be doing more.

I want you to light the candle.

Play the music.

Watch the movie.

Wear the cozy pajamas.

Make the warm drink.

Take the quiet evening.

Say no when you need to.

I want you to remember that holiday magic doesn’t have to come from overextending yourself.

Sometimes it comes from being present enough to receive what’s already beautiful.

Ā

I’m Leaving You a Little Peace

So this is my little promise to you:

I’m going to prepare gently.

I’m going to simplify where I can.

I’m going to notice what feels heavy.

I’m going to keep what still feels like love.

I’m going to release at least one expectation that doesn’t belong to us anymore.

I’m going to remember that your peace matters before the season even arrives.

Not because I’m trying to control everything.

But because I love the woman I’m becoming.

And you’re her.

Ā

Today’s Prompt

Write a short note to your future holiday self.

You can start with:

Dear Future Holiday Self, I hope this season feels…

Then let it be simple.

Tell her what you want for her.

Tell her what you’re willing to release for her.

Tell her what kind of peace you’re trying to leave on the path.

It doesn’t have to be long.

It just has to be honest.

Because your future holiday self isn’t far away.

She’s already becoming.

And every soft choice you make now is a little love letter she’ll get to open later.

Ā

Until our next post,

XOXO,

Girl October
