Creating the Unrushed Holiday Version of You, Right Now

Posted on July 27, 2026July 27, 2026 by admin

Let’s get started on creating the unrushed holiday version of you right now. Let’s not wait until the season has already begun and the stress has set in.

The holiday version of me is not rushed.

She doesn’t move through the season like everything is an emergency.

She doesn’t treat every list, invitation, gift, meal, tradition, or expectation like it has to be handled right this second.

She breathes.

She pauses.

She gives herself space to choose.

Because this year, she’s not trying to survive the season.

She’s learning how to receive it.

She Gives Herself Time

The holiday version of me knows that rushing doesn’t always mean something is urgent.

Sometimes rushing is just an old pattern.

An old belief.

An old habit of thinking everything has to be done perfectly, quickly, and for everybody else.

But this year, she gives herself time.

Time to think, plan, and rest.

Time to change her mind.

Time to decide what actually matters.

She doesn’t wait until she’s overwhelmed to slow down.

She Doesn’t Say Yes Immediately

The holiday version of me doesn’t automatically agree to everything.

She lets herself pause before answering.

She lets herself say:

“Let me check and get back to you.”

“I’ll have to see what works.”

“I’m keeping things simple this year.”

“That doesn’t work for me.”

She doesn’t rush into commitments that her future self will have to recover from later.

That’s peace.

That’s growth.

That’s self-respect.

She Lets Simple be Beautiful

She doesn’t make the season harder than it needs to be.

A simple meal can still be special.

A small gift can still be thoughtful.

A quiet night can still be magical.

A cozy corner can still change the whole mood.

A shorter list can still hold love.

The holiday version of me knows that beauty doesn’t always need more.

Sometimes it needs less pressure.

She Moves With Intention

This year, she moves differently.

Not perfectly or flawlessly.

Just more intentionally.

She notices when she’s starting to hurry from fear.

She notices when she’s trying to prove something.

She notices when she’s about to abandon her own peace to keep up with someone else’s expectations.

And then she comes back to herself.

She remembers:

I’m allowed to move slower.

I’m allowed to choose softer.

I’m allowed to let enough be enough.

Today’s Prompt

Complete this sentence:

The holiday version of me is not rushed because…

Then ask yourself:

Where do I usually rush during the holiday season?

Maybe it’s gift buying or saying yes too fast.

Maybe it’s decorating.

Maybe it’s trying to make everyone happy.

Maybe it’s spending money before checking in with yourself.

Maybe it’s filling the calendar before protecting your own peace.

Whatever comes up, let it show you where you may need more space this year.

Because the holiday version of you doesn’t have to move like she’s being chased.

She can move like a woman who trusts herself.

A woman who chooses with care.

A woman who knows the season will feel softer when she stops rushing through her own life.
